Parma visite des lieux

Situated on the ancient Via Emilia, Parma is the birthplace of the famous Correggio, Bodoni and home of the renowned parmesan and prosciutto cheese. A powerful city during the 16th century and the residence of the influential Farnese duchy, Parma was then one of the wealthiest towns in Italy. Later on, the city changed hands and came under the rule of the French Bourbons. The city was handed to Marie Louise, widow of Napoleon, following the Vienna Congress. She arrived here in the beginning of the 19th century and soon gained the love of the locals.
